Binge eating can make it difficult to lose any kind of weight. You may not even realize what you are doing until it’s too late. Between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner are when the binge eating is likely the strongest. If you indulge too much, you may be adding more calories than you care to count.

The good news is that there are a few tips to help you cut down on binge eating so that you are less likely to cheat when you are trying to lose weight.

Keep Fruits Nearby

It’s natural to me hungry sometimes, and you don’t want to get into the habit of starving yourself. If you do this, you are only going to reach for the unhealthiest snacks you can find. Keep some fruits nearby, whether they are fresh, or even can. While fresh is always better, you may not have an option based upon what’s in season and where you were. By keeping the fruits nearby, it will allow you to at least binge on something that’s a little healthier.

Use Preportioned Containers

It’s okay to pack some snacks, and using pre-portioned containers will make it a lot easier to snack responsibly. There are plenty of companies that will use portioning when they create their snack packs. However, even if you choose not to use those, you can portion everything else into Ziploc bags.

Keep Chocolate Protein Powder Nearby

There may be times when you want something chocolate. Keep chocolate protein powder inside of a shaker. When you are feeling the craving, add some water to the protein powder and shake it up. This will allow you to quench your need for some chocolate, and the protein will help to fill you up so that you are less likely to want a snack within the next hour or so.

Floss After Dinner

Go ahead and floss as soon as you are done with dinner. This will likely prevent you from wanting a snack later on. If you are in the habit are reaching for dessert, popcorn, or something else while you watch TV later in the evening, it may be what is causing you to sabotage your diet. Try and floss. Once you do this, you probably won’t want to do it again after eating snacks.

There are all sorts of different tips that you can try in order to reduce your binge eating. You may want to employ one or more of them so that you can start to control what you eat a little bit more effectively.
